Fast poster discovery
Participants needed to locate posters by number, title, presenter, and author without browsing through every item manually.
Event Technology
A conference digital environment combining website production, visual communication, searchable poster browsing, large-screen presentation, and staff-facing controls for reliable event-day operation.
Overview
The project required more than displaying poster files. It needed a clear browsing experience for participants, reliable controls for staff, and a presentation layout optimized for use on a large event monitor.
I worked across the visual design, website production, interface development, poster search and navigation, display testing, operating controls, and bilingual documentation required for practical on-site use.
The Challenge
Participants needed to locate posters by number, title, presenter, and author without browsing through every item manually.
Poster layouts needed to remain readable and properly proportioned on the event monitor while minimizing distracting controls and unused space.
Staff required clear controls, reset functions, operating instructions, and predictable behavior during continuous on-site use.
My Responsibilities
My responsibilities covered the participant-facing experience as well as the practical tools and documentation needed by staff.
Designed and developed event information pages, navigation, responsive layouts, and visual elements for the conference website.
Organized poster records, numbering, titles, presenter information, author information, and searchable metadata.
Developed poster search, listing, preview, previous and next navigation, keyboard controls, and return-to-directory behavior.
Tested layout behavior on desktop and event monitors and refined proportions, spacing, controls, poster scale, and full-screen presentation.
Prepared staff-facing controls, reset functions, configuration guidance, Japanese and English manuals, and technical README documentation.
Solution
Poster Directory
Posters were presented in a consistent directory with clear numbering, titles, presenter details, and direct access to individual poster views.
Search
Search supported poster numbers, titles, presenters, and author information so participants could quickly find relevant content.
Presentation Mode
Poster previews were optimized for large displays, with controls positioned to preserve the available screen area and keep attention on the poster.
Staff Controls
Staff-facing functions supported controlled operation, reset behavior, configuration, and recovery during live use.
Process
Reviewed poster quantity, metadata, monitor specifications, participant behavior, staff needs, and operating constraints.
Planned the poster directory, search fields, preview interface, navigation controls, and user return paths.
Implemented the directory, search functionality, poster display, keyboard controls, navigation, and staff-facing operating tools.
Verified resolution, scaling, poster proportions, monitor behavior, full-screen presentation, and control visibility on event hardware.
Created operating manuals, configuration notes, staff guidance, and technical documentation for reliable event-day use.
Outcome
The completed platform gave participants a structured way to search and browse posters while providing staff with documented controls for operation.
Skills Demonstrated
Poster content, presenter information, staff controls, configuration details, production code, credentials, and internal operating information are not displayed. Certain implementation details have been generalized.
