The project needed more than translated pages.

The platform needed a consistent information structure, navigation model, content hierarchy, and interface that could support Japanese, English, and Chinese without becoming difficult to manage or difficult to use.

I participated from the initial planning stage through website architecture, interface design, responsive development, multilingual implementation, client explanation, revisions, testing, and final delivery.

Three structural problems shaped the platform.

The core challenge was maintaining one coherent digital product while accommodating multiple content types, different language lengths, and future growth.

Complex information structure

Articles, topics, institutional information, contributor details, and related content needed clear relationships without creating confusing navigation or duplicated structures.

Multilingual consistency

Japanese, English, and Chinese pages needed to remain visually and structurally consistent while allowing language-appropriate labels, text lengths, and presentation.

Long-term scalability

The platform had to support new articles, contributors, categories, tags, topics, and other content without rebuilding the overall website structure.

Japanese establishes the primary content rhythm without locking the layout to one text pattern.

Navigation, headings, cards, and article structures are designed so Japanese content can remain readable while sharing the same underlying component model.

    Developed language structures, navigation, labels, page relationships, and switching behavior for Japanese, English, and Chinese.

    Explain, revise, validate, and deliver.

    Presented the structure and interface, collected feedback, implemented revisions, and verified behavior before delivery.

Multilingual publishing was treated as architecture, not translation.

The platform needed a common model strong enough to keep three languages coherent, but flexible enough to accommodate different labels, text lengths, and future content.

Use one content hierarchy across all languages.

Main sections, article types, topics, contributors, categories, and tags follow a common relationship model instead of being rebuilt independently for each language.

Design components around variable text length.

Navigation, cards, headings, and content blocks are designed to accommodate differences between Japanese, English, and Chinese rather than assuming identical copy.

Discovery

Let users find content beyond the main navigation.

Search, tags, categories, topics, and contributor relationships create multiple routes into the platform as the content library grows.

Testing focused on consistency across languages, devices, and discovery paths.

The final platform was checked not only page by page, but across the relationships that make a multilingual content system usable.
